Led by Chief Justice N V Ramana asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to look for guidelines on the issue, including whether it can get rid of the e-auction and file its response by April 8. The Supreme Court in 2012, prohibited the export of iron metal pellets from Karnataka to analyse the ecological harm in the state.The bench was hearing a series of filed petitions by mining organizations and their affiliations looking for resumption of iron metal commodities from Karnataka.
