Quality control of 99 technical textile products in works

India recently announced the first set of standards for technical textiles industry, in a move to ensure their standards and quality. The textiles ministry announced the launch of two Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for 31 items consisting of 19 Geo Textiles and 12 Protective Textiles including protective clothing for fire-fighters and welders in the first phase.

India’s textiles ministry has launched two Quality Control Orders (QCOs) for the technical textiles industry in a bid to ensure standards and quality, with the aim of preventing “dumping”.

The first phase of the programme will cover 31 items including 19 geo textiles and 12 protective textiles. Two more QCOs are set to be launched for agro textiles and medical textiles in Phase-II, while 30 technical textiles items may be considered in Phase-III.
